TRANS-FORMATION IN THE AGE OF VIRTUALITY

Ada Kwiatkowska

Abstract

The paper points out the concept of the form and context in the aspects of transforming the architectural object in the virtual age. New technologies break the barriers of place and space and build new relations between object and its surroundings. The liquid object becomes the context for itself, while the liquid context becomes the object. The principles and patterns of the trans-formation of the architectural object in the virtual age are analyzed in the following aspects: form as informed matter, in-formation flow, transmitting wall, trans-forming space and nanotopian form. The principles and patterns of the trans-formation of the context of architectural object in the virtual age are analyzed in the aspects of: urban channels and milestones.
