IWAU - International Workshops for Architecture and Urbanism - is a cooperation between some chosen Schools of Architecture around Europe. The purpose of IWAU is to offer the possibility for architectural students of different countries to work together on architectural and urban questions raised in a town somewhere in Europe. A specific context and its problematics are investigated by groups of students and teachers comprising different cultural backgrounds and experiences. Town representatives, landowners, architects and other stakeholders are also invited to participate and can in this way benefit from the ideas and proposals discussed during the workshop. The workshop will invite the students, teachers and architects from several European schools of architecture to reflect on the role of architectural and urban design, planning and landscaping, in the rapidly changing context of the European cities.
