FORM OF TH HOUSE IN THE ANTIMODERNISTIC ARCHITECTURE

Ada Kwiatkowska

Abstract

The architecture of antimodernism appeals to the local values, connected with the phenomenon of the place (genotype), and refers to the wider cultural context (phenotype). In the current trend of the antimodernistic architecture one can distinguish different concepts of the house: the traditional, regional, mimetic, eclectic, organic and primitive houses. The traditional house in the cultural context is a spatial pattern of the house beyond-the regional range. The regional house in the context of the cultural heritage of the place refers to the local pattern of the house. The mimetic house in the urban context imitates spatial patterns existing in the close neighborhood. The eclectic house in the context of history of architecture appeals to canons of houses. The organic house in the context of the natural environment derives inspirations from existing natural structures. The primitive house in the context of the individual expression is deep-set in basic rights of every user to self-creation.
