MIND-GAMES: INNOVATIVE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN IN THE DIGITAL AGE Ada
Kwiatkowska Abstract The innovative architectural design focuses on generating of original ideas and forms. It responds to challenges of digital age and it reaches to origins of the creativity of the human mind, deep-rooted in the phenomenon of the subconscious intuitive thinking. Presented model of architectural education concentrates on creativity of designer and on originality of ideas. The fields of exploration of mind-games, during the creative design process, are expressed by the following coordinate system: ignorance vs. knowledge and reflection vs. creation. In the zone of ignorance, the inventive methods are used to open the mind on metaphysical reasoning. In the zone of knowledge, the inventive methods concentrate on the range of information about the origins of the architectural forms. In the zone of reflection, the inventive methods are used to break the mirror imagination.. In the zone of creation, the inventive methods are focused on projection of dreams. The presented inventive methods are introduced to the educational post-graduated course of Inventive Design Methods at the Faculty of Architecture of Wroclaw University of Technology.
